Address Registration for International Students
As an international student, it is important that your personal details in the Personal Records Database (BRP) are up to date. Therefore, please pay attention to the following:
Moving in The Netherlands
Have you recently moved to a different city, or do you have a new address within your current municipality? Please, make sure to inform the municipality where you are going to live and provide them with you current address.
Moving to a foreign country
Are you leaving The Netherlands, temporarily or permanently? If so, report your departure to the municipality where you are registered.
Why is this important?
Having correct registration ensures that your personal details are accurate, that you receive important mail, that you can apply for any benefits or allowances, and that you avoid problems or possible fines.
You can usually report your move or departure easily online via your municipality’s website using your DigiD. If you are unable to do this online, please contact the relevant municipality to find out how you can report your new address.
