Official Kick-Off of One-Stop-Shop Zeeland | Zeeland International Center
Yesterday was the administrative kick-off of the one-stop shop in Zeeland. IND Director-General Rhodia Maas and colleagues from The Hague exchanged knowledge and practical experience with various parties from Zeeland. Zeeland International Center, from the business sector Dow and Nouvall Engineering Services and the municipalities of Terneuzen and Goes were represented. We look back on a very successful afternoon.
As from January 2025, highly skilled migrants and their family members can go to the Municipal Office in Goes to arrange everything for their stay in Zeeland at one time and one location (one-stop-shop). This will allow them to register in one of Zeeland's municipalities, arrange their Citizen Service Number (BSN), collect their residence document and receive practical information about working and living in the region. This is possible because Zeeland International Center, the 13 Zeeland municipalities and the IND have joined forces. In addition to knowledge migrants, other migrants from the region can also use the IND service point at the Municipal Office in Goes. The counter is open every Monday and Thursday from 10 am to 4 pm.
One-stop-shop
The one-stop-shop is a three-year pilot in which Zeeland International Center, the Zeeland municipalities and the IND link their services. This makes it possible for customers to go through all the necessary steps in one go at one location; the Municipal Office in Goes. For knowledge migrants and their family members, this makes Zeeland an attractive location for settlement. It also offers employers, who are recognised sponsors, the advantage that highly skilled migrants can start working in their company very quickly. This has a positive effect on the regional economy. The parties will use the pilot period to see whether this form of cooperation has the intended positive effect on service provision and on improving the business climate for highly educated talent.
Other IND services
In addition to highly skilled migrants and their family members, other migrants who want to stay in the Netherlands for e.g. work (labour migrant), study or stay with their partner can also visit this IND service point for limited services such as picking up their residence document, taking biometric data and placing a residence endorsement sticker or a return visa. In addition, migrants can receive general information on Dutch immigration policy.
