'Work In NL' for EU Labour Migrants
In a joint initiative, the Dutch national government, the Province of Zeeland, and the municipalities in the Zeeland labour market region have launched the Work In NL Information Service (WIN) to better support EU labour migrants. This new service is designed to help EU citizens working in Zeeland navigate life in the Netherlands and make informed decisions during their stay.
Zeeland International Center: A Central Point of Contact for Internationals
The Zeeland International Center serves as a central contact point for all internationals living and working in Zeeland. This includes EU labour migrants seeking guidance on topics such as housing, changing jobs, or understanding local regulations. The Center’s advisors offer independent support and can refer individuals to relevant social or public service organisations for further assistance.
Multiple Forms of Support
The WIN service is offered through a variety of channels to ensure accessibility:
• Physical Counters: The International Center’s offices in Goes and Terneuzen act as welcoming physical information points, where EU labour migrants can ask questions and receive assistance in person.
• Websites: The national platform workinnl.nl offers general information about living and working in the Netherlands in nine languages. For region-specific information, migrants can visit winzeeland.nl.
• Outreach Activities: Advisors from the International Center visit workplaces and large housing locations to provide information directly to EU labour migrants. These visits are organised in cooperation with the respective companies.
The Importance of WIN
The WIN service is currently being implemented across all labour market regions in the Netherlands, creating a nationwide support network for EU labour migrants. By helping individuals better understand and navigate the systems in place, WIN contributes to smoother integration into Dutch society and promotes fair and informed participation in the labour market.
This initiative highlights the commitment of Zeeland and its partners to creating a welcoming and supportive environment for EU workers who contribute to the region’s economy and communities.
