Internationals living in the Netherlands
The Donor Act has been effective from 1 July 2020. Due to the COVID-19 crisis, more time has been granted to think about the choice. If you have not recorded a choice in the Donor Register by 1 July 2020, you will receive from September 2020 a letter by post.
Everyone who is 18 years or older and is registered in a Dutch municipality will be included in the new Donor Register. This means that foreigners are also registered in this Donor Register. At the time of de-registration from a municipality and departure from the Netherlands, this is passed on from the municipality to the donor registration. The person will then be de-registered from the Donor Register.
The Dutch letters will be sent as of September 1, 2020. The information is also placed in the English, Arabic and Turkish language - see the website www.donorregister.nl
