The Expat Center Zeeland works with affiliated service providers for commercial purposes. In this newsletter we introduce our partners and let them tell you what is going on in this challenging time.
Our partners do everything to help expats/internationals in an innovative way. For example, the partners Taalkracht, Taalschool Zeeland and Scalda immediately switched to online and digital learning. The digital contact is via Zoom, WhatsApp, Video calling, Face Time, Skype and WebEx. The teaching materials that students need are shared in various ways.
Taalkracht links students via Google Classroom to their own digital classroom. Groups also have a classroom of their own. This provides a good overview.
Taalschool Zeeland always work with blended learning methods. This allows students to continue working at home in the online (portal) environment. This way Taalschool Zeeland offers, in combination with digital contacts, a completely efficient program.
Scalda works with the different groups according to a timetable, using online programs. They then prepare homework on Google Drive. The teacher and the student can work in the same document. This is received positively. They also make use of paper packages that support the digital language training.
Every language training partner does discuss the feedback with their students. As a result, they have realized a high-quality program. They will continue to all the necessary to ensure that language training proceeds as optimally as possible.
Caring is the code word for our partner Kinderopvang Zeeuws-Vlaanderen
The daycare Kinderopvang Zeeuws-Vlaanderen has started again from the 11th of May onwards. The guidelines and regulations, as advised by the Rijksinstituut voor Volksgezondheid en Milieuhygiëne (RIVM), are in place. The daycare shares this protocol with the parents of the children. Safety stands up-front and the staff of the daycare is committed with great dedication and enthusiasm.
Sharing is the code word for our partner Bodyline
Stay fit & healthy is the motto! Bodyline presents online workouts, group lessons and also healthy food recipes. This initiative is highly appreciated by their members and their employees.
Bauke Boon (employee of Bodyline) says: “Our employees also love to do something for our members. There is also a target group that is not online and does not receive our emails. We are now calling about thousand 60+ members to ask how they are doing and what we can do for them.”
Caring - also with remote advice
Our partner Van Bruggen Adviesgroep provides financial advice, such as mortgage, insurance and brokerage. Their advisory role has been expanded with remote advice. This is done by telephone or with video calling. During this challenging period, it is quite busy as a number of people want to arrange a lower interest rate. Also, At this moment they receive various signals regarding the housing market. Apparently, there are fewer viewings to do, but just as many houses are still being sold. Also, houses are put up for sale a little faster than earlier in the year. Furthermore, in view of the border with Belgium still being closed, a decrease for the border region has been observed.
