In everyday life, but certainly also at work
Language is important. In everyday life, but certainly also at work! While English may be the main language in some places, Dutch is usually the norm. For safety and smooth communication with your colleagues, it is important to speak (and write) functional Dutch. However, frequently used technical terms and the names of specific tools, materials, and resources aren’t always covered in regular language courses. Therefore, Taalschool Zeeland has developed specific language courses for different branches of industry and other sectors.
We have developed courses for employees in Healthcare and Welfare, Technology, Hospitality, Cleaning, Transport and Logistics. Of course, we can create other courses on request. For each industry, we selected approximately 300 words, as well as numerous often used expressions. Additionally, we focus on 'general employee skills' that are common in the Netherlands. These comprehensive courses are offered in a cycle of 10 lessons (5 weeks x 2 lessons). Our students experienced this as a very valuable addition to the standard NT2 course (Dutch for Non-Native Speakers).
Of course, we still offer the standard courses during both daytime and evening hours. From level A0 to B1, we pay attention to all language skills: speaking, listening, reading, writing, and conversational skills. After completion, participants receive a certificate or diploma. We work in groups, not individually, because interaction during the lessons is considered very important. In addition to physical classes, we also provide an e-learning environment for further practice at home, at the student's own pace and convenience.
