Expat Center Zeeland develops further
We continue working on the further development of the Expat Center Zeeland. Our ambition is to create a warm welcome for all internationals who decide to work & live in Zeeland.
To facilitate these ambitions we have knocked on the door of the regional deal Zeeuws-Vlaanderen, called Zeeuwen zelf aan zet! During the following months we will inform the Zeeland municipalities about our development and we will investigate whether municipalities are willing to join this development. We work with an external company, BOOM Strategy & Communication.
BOOM is mapping all wishes and ambitions of the various municipalities. The Expat Center Zeeland contributes to the economic development of Zeeland. The labor market monitor shows that it is important for Zeeland to keep the working population up to standard. David Westveer, strategic advisor of BOOM states: “ The Expat Center does have an important role. For the coming period we will act on behalf of the Expat Center and will debate with municipalities and collect existing ambitions and wishes with regard to expert advice, services and guidance for internationals and international organizations. An important topic for Zeeland!”
Zeeland offers a diversity of working sectors and Zeeland is committed to innovation. Therefore, the Expat Center does not only focus on knowledge workers, but also on labor migrants, students and international start-ups. An international community has been set up as well to promote integration and enjoy working and good living in Zeeland;
we make you feel at home!
The Expat Center is also investigating together with the IND (Integration & Naturalization), the possibility of operating together in Zeeland. “The initiatives really matter to employers and international employees, as various responses show,” says David Westveer of BOOM. “They appreciate the initiatives of the Expat Center. If the Expat Center succeeds in getting the IND in Zeeland ‘in house’, this will offer a considerable saving in time for employers and employees. We will discuss with municipalities the possibility to investigate, how and where we can strengthen and broaden initiatives and we will look into the added value of these initiatives for the Zeeland municipalities”.
Furthermore, collaboration with various organizations and governments is of great importance, such as the labor market organization of Zeeland, the ZMO (Zeeland Marketing Organization), Impuls Zeeland, cross-border working/Border Information Point and secondary education in Zeeland.
