IND System in the Netherlands

The two main parties involved in the immigration process are the Immigration and Naturalisation Service Desk (IND) and the Registration Municipal Personal Records database. (Basisregistratie personen, BRP).
The Immigration and Naturalisation Service is part of the Ministry of Security and Justice. The IND implements the immigration policy and makes decisions on residence permits.
