Are we international?

Is Zeeland multinational?  And how is this translated to the region? International sectors in Zeeuws-Vlaanderen are: Chemical & Process Industry, Agrifood, Logistics, Energy, Circular Economy, Maritime and Tourism.

Zeeuws-Vlaanderen region

Zeeuws-Vlaanderen is connected to the rest of the Netherlands and with Belgium via de N62. It is an important road between the seaport and the industrial areas of Ghent, Terneuzen and Vlissingen. Terneuzen is connected via waterways like the Scheldt-Seine connection, with the heart of Paris and six other European harbors (Rotterdam, Antwerp, Ghent, Zeebrugge, Le Havre, Rouen and Dunkirk). A large new sea lock will be built by 2022. The construction is in full progress. The new sea lock will be one of the world’s biggest sea locks: 427 meter long, 55 meter wide and 16,44 meter deep.

The dimensions correspond to those of the new Panama Canal locks, allowing ships of the size New Panamax to pass through. Terneuzen is a very good central location in view of various important cities and markets all over the world by water, road and freight railways.
