Holi, a colorful and joyous festival
On March 23rd, the international community celebrated the Indian Festival – Holi a colorful and joyous festival celebrated primarily in India and Nepal. This was attended by more than 100 people from diverse nationality. The event was organized by the Dow’s Asian Diversity Network (ADN) Benelux group at PV Dow, De Bremer, Terneuzen. The ADN BENELUX is an employee resource group which focuses on educating and celebrating Asian culture to employees of diverse backgrounds.
It gave a great opportunity for families to meet and mingle with each other in a very informal way with lots of fun. Kids had great enjoyment with the good music along with a delicious Indian snacks served during the celebration. For many of the participant it was a first-time experience which they enjoyed to the fullest.
Holi marks the arrival of spring and the victory of good over evil. The main characteristic of Holi is the playful throwing of vibrant colored powders and colored water at friends and family. People also gather to dance, sing, and enjoy festive foods and sweets. It's a time of unity and joy, where people forget past differences and come together to celebrate.
